Coaching Agreement & Informed Consent

This Coaching Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between ICU Clinician’s Compass™ (“Coach,” “we,” “us”) and the enrolling client (“Client,” “you”).

By purchasing or participating in the ICU Communication Accelerator™, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below.

1. Purpose of Coaching

The ICU Communication Accelerator™ is a professional coaching program designed to support ICU clinicians in developing:

  • Communication clarity
  • Confidence under pressure
  • Professional presence
  • Self-awareness and reflective practice

Coaching is educational and developmental in nature. It is not therapy, medical care, mental health treatment, or supervision.

2. Scope of Practice & No Medical Advice

You understand and agree that:

  • Coaching does not include medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision-making
  • Coaching does not replace employer training, supervision, or institutional policies
  • Any clinical examples discussed are generalized or fictionalized for educational purposes

You remain fully responsible for your own clinical decisions, professional judgment, licensure obligations, and patient care.

3. Not Therapy or Mental Health Treatment

Coaching is not psychotherapy, counseling, or mental health treatment.

The Coach does not diagnose, treat, or manage mental health conditions.
If you are experiencing significant psychological distress, anxiety, depression, or burnout, you are encouraged to seek support from a licensed mental health professional.

4. Client Responsibility

You acknowledge that:

  • You are responsible for your own growth, decisions, and actions
  • Coaching outcomes depend on your engagement, reflection, and practice
  • No specific results are guaranteed

The Coach provides structure, guidance, and support – but you remain the decision-maker.

5. Confidentiality

Your privacy matters.

  • Coaching conversations are kept confidential to the extent permitted by law
  • Information will not be shared without your consent, except as required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others)

Please note: electronic communication (email, scheduling platforms) carries inherent privacy risks despite reasonable safeguards.

6. Program Structure & Delivery

The ICU Communication Accelerator™ includes:

  • Set number of coaching sessions as determined in each coaching package
  • Each session approximately 60 minutes
  • Delivered virtually via video conferencing
  • Scheduled by mutual agreement

Sessions are professional coaching conversations, not crisis services.

7. Scheduling, Cancellations, & Missed Sessions

  • Sessions must be rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice
  • Missed sessions without notice may be forfeited
  • Coaching sessions are non-transferable unless otherwise agreed in writing

We understand clinical schedules are demanding and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate.

8. Fees & Payment

  • Program fees are clearly stated at time of purchase
  • Payment is due in full unless a payment plan is explicitly offered
  • All prices are listed in USD

9. Refund Policy

Because coaching involves time-based services and reserved availability:

  • All sales are final unless otherwise stated
  • No refunds are provided for completed or partially completed coaching
  • Exceptions may be made at the Coach’s discretion in rare circumstances

This policy exists to protect the integrity of the coaching container for all clients.

10. No Guarantees

While many clients experience increased clarity, confidence, and professional growth, you understand that:

  • Results vary
  • No specific outcomes are promised
  • Coaching is not a guarantee of career advancement, performance evaluation outcomes, or workplace changes

11. Professional Conduct & Mutual Respect

This coaching relationship is built on mutual respect.

We reserve the right to terminate coaching if there is:

  • Harassment or inappropriate behavior
  • Repeated boundary violations
  • Misuse of coaching for purposes outside its scope

In such cases, remaining sessions may be forfeited.

12. Intellectual Property

All program materials – including worksheets, frameworks, recordings, and written content – are the intellectual property of ICU Clinician’s Compass™.

They may not be reproduced, distributed, or sold without written permission.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • ICU Clinician’s Compass™ is not liable for any direct or indirect damages resulting from participation
  • You agree to hold harmless the Coach from outcomes related to your professional decisions

14. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Virginia, United States.

15. Acknowledgment & Consent

By enrolling in the ICU Communication Accelerator™, you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood this Agreement
  • You voluntarily participate in coaching
  • You accept full responsibility for your professional actions and decisions
